Maintenance

Our mission is to provide a clean, comfortable, safe and positive
learning environment for all the students at Bedford County Schools.

The Bedford County Schools Facilities Department takes a lot of pride in cleaning and maintaining over 1.4 million square feet of building space, mowing approximately 300 acres of lawns and serving the needs of 9,000 students and 1,000 staff members.

We typically complete over 1,500 corrective and preventive work orders each month along with doing special projects. To help save the school system and county money we are happy to take on various special projects such as resurfacing gym floors, pouring concrete sidewalks, and doing many large jobs that typically a contractor would do. Our people definitely have the “we can do it” attitude!

Our Facilities Department takes safety and training very seriously! Each employee receives training in all safety aspects including topics like Fire Safety, Slip Trips and Falls, Hazardous Waste, Personal Protective Equipment, Electrical Safety, Back Safety, and of course disinfecting, hand washing and proper social distancing.

We welcome new applicants with positive attitudes to come join our team!
