WELCOME To TITLE  I

What is Title I?

Title I is the nation’s largest federal assistance program for schools. The goal of Title I is to help every child get a high-quality education.  Here at Community, we target students in grades 1-3 to give extra help in reading.

The Title I program at Community Elementary is a targeted assistance program.  Students that qualify for Title I come in small groups to the Title I lab each day for a 45 minute period of extra help in reading.  However, the decision has been made for our school to change to a school-wide program beginning in the 2007-2008 school year.

Parent-Involvement is an important part of our Title I program.  A Parent Advisory meeting is held in the fall of each year for parents, teachers, and administrators to help plan the year.  Newsletters are sent home to the parents each month.  A Family Night is usually held in the fall and spring of each year.  Parents are encouraged to talk to the Title I teachers during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
