THE 19TH AMENDMENT

The 19th Amendment was ratified on August 18,1920.In 1919 Congress

approved the 19th Amendment to the U.S Constitution, which provided that

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or

abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex." This was

particularly brought up by women who wanted to vote. Susan B. Anthony

was one of the brilliant American feminists. She and many other feminists were

what gave somewhat of a spark to the making of the 19th Amendment.

Thanks to them we now have a 19th Amendment.
