Bedford's Agriculture
Bedford County,Tennessee is known for its agriculture.Agriculture is growing plants and animals to feed us and make clothes for us.Agriculture also is growing trees to build houses and make other things made of wood.Tennessee's agricultural industry is a large and important part of the state's economy.Modern agriculture is really a three part system:the farm supply sector, the farming or production sector, and the processing-distribution sector. The term "agribusiness"is used to describe this system.Agribusiness is one of our largest and most wildly dispersed industries, with at least one firm in every Tennessee town. The current trend is to have fewer and larger farms. The leading cash crops of Bedford County are corn and soybeans.
