Original Poems
Poems are poorly written, inaccurate, or incomplete. They demonstate no understanding of poetry. Some poems are provided, but are limited or inaccurate. Poems do not demonstate understanding of poetry concepts. Poems are well written and interesting to read. These demonstrate an understanding of concepts taught. Poems are accurate and complete, are creatively written, and are cleverly presented.
Understanding of Techniques and Form Improper form or technique is used. Most techniques used are recognizable, but out of place or missing. Some, but few, techniques or form may be missing or are incorrect. Excellent job with both form and technique.
Grammar, Spelling,Punctuation,
and Choice of Words

the poetry.
Style, purpose, audience, grammar, spelling, and punctuation all fair and indicative of an understanding of poetry. Excellent job on presentation, style, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Following Classroom Guidelines and
Directions
Students are often out of their area without permission and are disruptive to the class. They do not use thinking skills, good social skills, and require constant prodding to do their best. Students occasionally leaves area without permission. They need reminding of the present task. They are on task part of the time. The students seem to have good days and bad. Students do not follow directions for the most part. Students stay in their area and talk quietly. They seem to be trying most of the time. They use their problem-solving
and thinking skills. Students may have had some difficulty following directions.
Students are always on task, stay in their own area, and work quietly. Students followed project directions and classroom directions. They have done an excellent job problem -solving, staying on task, and being independent thinkers.
 
  Note: For those teachers that have to use letter grades, you easily can convert the scores or an average of the total score to a letter grade.  
  1 = "D", 2="C", 3="B", and 4="A"  
  Anything below a "1" obviously constitutes the grade "F".  
  If you need number grades, use 1=74, 2=83, 3=92, and 4=100. Use judgement for below 74 projects.
