This WebQuest has been designed to help Marketing I students
improve their selling and promotion skills.
Marketing
I
students are juniors and seniors in high school. This may be their first business
course or they may have taken Principles
of Business as a Freshman or Sophomore. The following Marketing
I State Department of Education curriculum standards may be found in this
lesson: STANDARD 3.0 The
student will understand the nature and scope of selling. LEARNING
EXPECTATIONS The
student will: 3.1
Understand the concepts and techniques of selling. 3.2
Analyze the factors that influence customer buying decisions. 3.3 Demonstrate the selling process and techniques used in marketing and management. PERFORMANCE
STANDARDS: EVIDENCE STANDARD IS MET The
student: 3.1
Analyzes the profile of a successful salesperson. 3.2
Appraises steps in customer decision-making. 3.3 Compares and contrasts the techniques used in a sales presentation.
Here
are the student instructions for the project: You have
invented a teleportation device
that will eliminate people having to drive cars to where they want to
go. Your new “Teleporter” will help people get to work
and school on time. Your mission
is to figure out how best to sell your new “Teleporter”! You
will explore websites that will help fine tune your selling skills. Good luck and may the sales force be
with you. . . . . Using
internet websites you are to complete the following:
To accomplish the
task, you must visit the following five websites on Selling: http://www.sellingselling.com/ http://www.knowthis.com/selling/salesinfo.htm http://mkt.cba.cmich.edu/jpssm/ http://www.tutor2u.net/business/marketing/promotion_personalselling.asp http://ollie.dcccd.edu/mrkt2370/Chapters/ch10/10sell.htm 1.) After you visit
these sites, incorporate two ideas or theories from each site into your plan
for selling your Teleporters. 2.) With your team,
type your selling plan for Teleporters.
Plans must be in Arial font, 13 point, double spaced, and five pages
in length. 3.) Your team will
present your project to the rest of the class. Students need to be divided into groups of four. There needs to be one computer for each group of students. This is the rubric designed to evaluate
student performance on this project:
