Skyward Family Access Portal

The Bedford County Department of Education is offering all parents and guardians of Bedford County students online access to view their student's grades, attendance, academic progress, notification options, and other important information. This access will be provided through an Internet-based web portal called Skyward Family Access.  The availability for students who are in kindergarten is limited to attendance, annoucements, email, and notification options only at the present time.

In order to use the Family Access Portal, the parent or guardian must go in person to their student's school and request access to this web portal.  


The first time you access the portal from your browser, it may require you to disable or deactivate the popup blocker.  If you have questions about your access to Skyward please contact your child's school.

 

**Student Skyward Password Change Requirement (2017-2018)

 For some time, the Bedford County School system has provided Office 365 accounts to BCS teachers and specific staff members. We are excited to announce the rollout of Office 365 accounts, coming shortly after Christmas break, to BCS students in grades 3rd – 12th grade. Students in 9th – 12th grade will also receive a corresponding email address. These accounts will provide opportunities for student engagement with instructional technology in both the classroom and at home. This will increase student-to- student and student-to-teacher collaboration. With this rollout, we will be also be requiring every student to change their Skyward account password. Starting November 15th, students that login to Skyward will see a prompt to enter a new password. The password must be at least 5 characters long and contain at least one number. All passwords should be changed by December 15th.

 The steps to change a password are simple:

  •  Students need to Login to Skyward before December 15th
  • Students will be prompted to enter a new password into two fields (new and confirm new)
  • Student clicks Submit

If a student does not know their Skyward Login ID or password, a teacher can pull that information for the student. Parents are encouraged to setup and use their own Skyward account.  Additonal options are being setup and will be rolled out to the parent through their login and the student login will not be able to access certain information.  Parents/guardians do NOT need to change the password for students as students will need to know this login to access additional instructional credentials in the future.
