Pre-K Overview:

The Pre-Kindergarten Program is for students who qualify as low income determined by the federal government guidelines. All interested parents may sign up. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from school. The program hours are from 7:45 AM - 1:45 PM, Monday through Friday. These classes follow the regular school calendar, and there is an attendance requirement. You will be contacted on the status of your child’s enrollment in the Pre-K program after your child has been screened. Parents will have to verify proof of income. We will continue to accept applications at the Bedford County Board of Education Central Office Building throughout the school year. Once all the openings are filled, your child’s name will go on a waiting list.

To verify proof of income, parents may use last year's tax documents or current documentation of work/unemployment. For families who state they currently have no income (perhaps due to a recent job loss), a zero-income certification statement, a declaration of no income, and a third-party verification with written consent from the previous employer will need to be provided. Forms are provided below.
