Students are screened in grades K, 2, 4, 6, 8, and high school Lifetime Wellness classes as part the Tennessee Department of Education’s Coordinated School Health program for vision, hearing, height, weight, and blood pressure. These screenings are done in a effort to make sure that our children are healthy and ready to learn.

These are only screenings. They do not provide a diagnosis. Any referrals should be shared with your child’s physician during their yearly check-up. Also, don’t forget that children should also visit their dentist for routine cleaning and check-ups every six months.

If you have questions or need additional information or resources, please do not hesitate to contact the health coordinator at the Office of Coordinated School Health.
