The Criminal Justice III students at #CommunityHighSchool, led by Instructor Chris Hobbs, recently visited Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary for an unforgettable learning experience. 🚌🏛️ During the trip, #students gained valuable insight into the realities of incarceration and the lasting impact of poor choices. 🚔 They also explored the duties, challenges and responsibilities of working as a correctional officer — connecting classroom lessons with real-world application. 💼👮‍♂️

This hands-on experience gave students a deeper understanding of both sides of the criminal justice system and the importance of integrity, accountability and wise decision-making.💡🔒

Celebrating Readers at Eakin Elementary!

Students at #EakinElementarySchool are turning the page on a brand-new way to celebrate their love of reading! Thanks to generous donations from the #KiwanisClubOfBedfordCounty and #CooperSteel, the school is now home to a book vending machine — where students can earn special coins to “purchase” a brand-new book to keep. Kiwanis Club bought the machine, and Cooper Steel is stocking the books!

As part of Cooper Steel's reading program, #students were challenged to read 1,000 minutes to earn their first vending coin. Their hard work and dedication paid off and the excitement on their faces as they selected their books said it all! A heartfelt #ThankYou goes out to the Kiwanis Club and Cooper Steel for their generous support and commitment to fostering a love of literacy. For the second time, #CascadeHighSchool band brought home the SILVER medal – 2nd Place Division II Band in Tennessee!

Finals were a true test of dedication as #students performed through pouring rain, winds and cold, demonstrating the heart of champions. 🌧️💨❄️ Their perseverance resulted in an unforgettable performance!

🌟 Future Concrete Leaders in the Making! 🌟

Jon Huddleston from #MTSU's Concrete Industry Management program recently visited #CommunityHighSchool's JAGTN class, led by Instructor Monica Lewis. He shared fascinating insights about the different types of concrete and the wide range of careers connected to concrete management—from engineering and marketing to even working on NASA projects, like designing a lunar landing pad!

#Students also learned about the many scholarship opportunities available through MTSU’s program. To make the visit even more interactive, Mr. Huddleston gave each #student a yo-yo, showing the value of hands-on activities and encouraging students to engage with one another.

It was a fun and inspiring experience, showing that concrete isn’t just about building—it’s about building a future full of possibilities! 🚀
