#EakinElementarySchool recently held student-led parent teacher conferences and had an incredible 78.7% of families attend! Students took the spotlight, sharing their learning goals, progress and proudest moments with their families. ✨

Student-led conferences have truly transformed how families engage with the school. With #students taking charge of sharing their progress, data and goals, conversations become more meaningful — and students gain a deeper sense of pride in their growth. 💬💙

"None of this would have been possible without the incredible efforts of teachers, who thoughtfully prepared students and created the conditions for success," commented Eakin Principal Meredith Gilliland. "Teachers worked tirelessly to connect with parents in person or by phone, sent home reminders and ensured that ELL, SPED, Speech, and translators were included to support every student’s needs." 🌟

Students in Instructor Kaycee Martin’s Health Science Education class at #CommunityHighSchool recently brought their career exploration to life with a HOSA Health Career Display challenge. 🎓💡

Judged by CTE Supervisor Lori Sexton, Principal Dr. Ralston, Assistant Principal Dr. Bowling, Dean of Students Coach Tyre and Graduation Coach Mrs. Lemmons, #students presented their chosen health careers, sharing required #education, salary expectations and what inspired them to pursue the field.

The project helped students develop teamwork 🤝, communication 🗣️ and project management skills 📋 while discovering exciting possibilities within the healthcare industry🚑🩺. 👏

Students in Mrs. Monroe’s class at #EastSideElementarySchool recently explored the exciting world of chemistry by observing the reaction between baking soda and vinegar. They carefully recorded new matter created during the chemical change and weighed substances before and after to see the conservation of matter in action. 🔬⚖️

Recently, students in #CommunityHighSchool's JAGTN classes, led by instructor Monica Lewis, got a real-world look at the hiring process, thanks to an amazing presentation by Kennedy Honey and Laura Zontek from Cooper Steel.

Students, who have been sharpening their skills in job interviews and resumes, discovered what employers really look for when hiring. 💼👔✨

The excitement didn’t stop there—several #students even got to test their skills on a #welding simulator🛠️, bringing career learning to life! 🎯

The #CommunityHighSchool Criminal Justice Student Organization, led by instructor Chris Hobbs, recently held its first-ever training day on Friday, October 17th! 📅✨

Throughout the day, #students rotated through immersive training stations including:

🕵️‍♀️ Crime Scene Investigation
👮‍♂️ Field Sobriety for D.U.I. Arrests
🚁 Drone Operations

This event provided real-world experience, preparing students for upcoming competitions and future careers in #CriminalJustice. 💼 It was an exciting opportunity for students to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom in a hands-on, professional setting. 🙌📚
