❤️🧸A Community Effort to Comfort Students in Need🧸❤️

Bedford County School Board Member Mr. Glenn Forsee's granddaughter, Elizabeth Foresee, has begun a “Passing on Love” initiative in memory of her dear friend Asher Sullivan. 🌟

Kaycee Sullivan, Asher’s mother, recently joined Elizabeth and Mr. Forsee at #CommunityElementarySchool to share kindness and comfort with #students. During their visit, they personally handed out stuffed animals 🧸 to students in need, brightening their day and providing comfort.

The Forsee family and the Sullivan family are also providing additional stuffed animals 🧸 to the school counselor and school social work team, ensuring students across #BedfordCountySchools continue to receive support whenever they need it most. ❤️

Asher’s Animals represent the hands and hearts of caring individuals coming together to provide comfort through stuffed animals and meaningful support for students.🤝

We are #grateful for community partners who help make a positive difference in the lives of our students. 🌟

What an unforgettable evening at #EakinElementarySchool’s STEAM Night! 🌟

The school was buzzing with excitement as families explored hands-on learning and creativity at every turn. From a fan-favorite slime room to coding fun with Bee-Bots, #students were fully immersed in discovery and innovation. Guests even got a behind-the-scenes look at how pottery is made, and had the chance to paint their own masterpieces!

The evening also featured incredible musical performances led by Ms. Ms. Hamm 🎶 which was a true highlight of the night!

We want to send a special shoutout to the #ShelbyvilleHighSchool football team, science club and Renaissance club for helping make the event such a success. 💛💙

🌤️ Real-World Learning in Action! 🎥

Our students are gaining invaluable career insights through hands-on experiences! #ShelbyvilleCentralHighSchool student Louis Floyd recently completed a job shadow at NewsChannel 5 Nashville, coordinated by Senior Meteorologist Lelan Statom, where he explored the world of broadcast journalism and meteorology.

During his visit, Louis:

📺 Observed live news broadcasts;

📝 Sat in on production meetings;

🌦️ Learned from reporters, producers and meteorologists;

📊 Explored cutting-edge forecasting technology;

🎓 Received guidance on college pathways and career development.

#ThankYou to the Stars College Network at Vanderbilt University for partnering with us to create these transformative learning opportunities for our students!

This is the kind of authentic, career-focused experience that prepares our #students for success. 🚀

Step back in time! 🎶🕺

Recently, in instructor Brinn Elliott’s U.S. History class at #CommunityHighSchool, 11th-grade students took a hands-on journey through the 1950s and 1960s with rock ‘n’ roll music setting the atmosphere! 🎸

#Students rotated through interactive stations, exploring topics like suburban life, the GI Bill, media, consumer culture, social justice and presidential politics. Each station brought history to life with real artifacts from the era, including a vintage hairspray can, a classic gumball machine, a 1950s Yahtzee game, vinyl records, a handheld radio, the JFK Memorial Issue and a New York Times Moon Landing newspaper release.

This immersive experience gave students a chance to “travel back in time” before diving deeper into one of the most transformative periods in American history. Learning history has never been this engaging! ✨📚

Recently, #student leaders from across #BedfordCountySchools joined peers from across the state for the Tennessee School Boards Association Student Congress on Policies in Education (SCOPE),🗣️✨ an event dedicated to elevating student voice in public education. 📚💡

This year’s SCOPE brought together high school #students to examine the real challenges facing public schools in Tennessee 🏫. Through mock school board sessions and spirited debates ⚖️🗳️, students stepped into the roles of decision-makers, parents, educators and community members to explore solutions and share their perspectives. 💬🌟

Last week, these amazing students were recognized at our school board meeting, and we couldn’t be more proud of their professionalism, insight and #leadership 👏. Their willingness to speak up and engage in meaningful conversations shows just how bright the future of public education truly is.🌟
