✏️📚 A big THANK YOU to Duck River Electric Membership Corporation for supporting #BedfordCountySchools through its "Stuff the Bucket" school supply drive! 💙

This community initiative, inspired by the buckets on DREMC's line trucks, encouraged employees, members and local residents to donate new school supplies to help #students start the school year with the tools they need to succeed. The drive collected essential classroom items all of which will help support students across our district.

The generosity of Duck River Electric and everyone who donated is an investment in the success of our students. Your commitment to #education will make a meaningful difference as students begin the new school year. 🍎✏️

🚍📚 Rolling into the New School Year! 📚🚍

Recently, principals and teachers from #EakinElementarySchool climbed aboard a school bus for a special neighborhood book tour!

They visited local neighborhoods to surprise #students with free books while sharing smiles, stories and excitement as the first day of school gets closer.✨

It was a wonderful way to kick off the new school year by building connections, encouraging a love of reading and reminding families that Eakin is more than just a place to learn. It's a community. 💬📖✨

🎀✂️ Every great teaching career starts somewhere, and for six educators at #LearningWayElementarySchool, it started with a ribbon cutting! ✂️🎀

The school recently celebrated six, first-year teachers with a special first classroom ribbon cutting ceremony, recognizing the exciting milestone of opening their very first classrooms.

Each teacher received a commemorative first classroom certificate before ceremonially cutting a ribbon to mark the beginning of a journey that will impact #students for years to come. It was a meaningful reminder that every classroom represents new opportunities to inspire, encourage and shape the future.

#Congratulations to these outstanding educators as they begin their careers in #BedfordCountySchools! Here’s to a year filled with growth, learning and unforgettable moments. 💙💛🍎

Five Bedford County Schools educators spent part of their summer investing in what matters — helping students become stronger writers!

Eakin Principal Meredith Gilliland, BCS Communications Director Carol Garrette, Community Middle 7th Grade ELA Teacher Reagan Steenbergen, Eakin 3rd Grade Teacher Chasity Stewart and Southside 5th Grade English Teacher Crystal Hathcock recently participated in a two-day TCAP Writing Bootcamp at Middle Tennessee State University, hosted by the #MiddleTennesseeWritingProject. Led by #IgniteLiteracyServices' Merideth Myers, the professional learning experience equipped participants with effective instructional strategies and valuable resources to strengthen writing instruction in the classroom.

We are proud of these educators for dedicating their summer to learning, growing, and bringing new ideas back to Bedford County Schools. Their commitment to continuous improvement means even greater opportunities for our students to build confidence and succeed as writers.

Thank you for always striving to give our students the very best! ✏️📚
