🌟 A Strong Start to a New School Year! 🌟

This morning, our #BedfordCountySchools Central Office team gathered for breakfast with Superintendent Tim Harwell to kick off the new school year with a message of purpose, unity and a clear vision for the year ahead. 🍎📚

At the heart of the message was a clear priority: our #students. As we move forward, we are committed to working together with purpose to advance our shared mission and support #student success. The Central Office plays an important role in supporting the work happening across our schools, and we recognize that how we lead, serve and treat one another matters as we work toward our shared goals.

As we work toward becoming an exemplary district, our focus will include three key areas:

🎯 Improving K–3 Literacy
🎯 Middle School Academic Success
🎯 College and Career Readiness

Together, we are moving forward with purpose, focused on what matters most: our students and their future. 🚀📖🎓

🦖🦁 From Fossils to the Zoo! 🦁🦖

Mrs. Brittany Palmer’s ABLE Summer Learning Camp students at #CartwrightElementarySchool recently explored the fascinating world of animals past and present as they became paleontologists and zoologists!

Throughout camp, #students compared prehistoric animals with animals we see today while strengthening their comprehension through fun and engaging activities. They dug for fossils in the sand, created colorful rainbow volcanoes and took a virtual field trip to the Nashville Zoo. 🦴🌈🌋🦒

Each #student also selected a favorite zoo animal to research and proudly completed an animal research project, showcasing what they learned. 🔍📚

Students wrapped up their Summer Learning Camp experience on a sweet note by making and enjoying homemade ice cream together! 🍦✨

🎉 Investing in Our Leaders, Strengthening Our Schools! 🎉

Today, our principals, assistant principals and supervisors came together to prepare for the 2026–2027 school year by completing Youth Mental Health First Aid training.

Led in person by three trainers from the Tennessee Department of Education, participants completed the course, passed the certification exam and are now officially Youth Mental Health First Aid certified! 💚

This nationally recognized training equips our leaders with the skills to recognize, understand and respond to signs of mental health challenges in young people, helping create safe, supportive and caring school communities.

We're proud of our leaders for investing in professional growth and #student well-being as we prepare for an outstanding 2026–2027 school year! 💡📚
